GDPR & Data Subject Rights

Last updated May 3, 2026.

PrivacyTermsCookiesGDPR

This page explains your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR, and how SEO Wires processes personal information about EU/EEA and UK residents. It supplements our Privacy Policy.

1. Data controller

SEO Wires is the "data controller" for personal information you provide directly to us through the Service. Where we process personal information on behalf of a customer (for example, content you submit for analysis on behalf of an organization), we may act as a "data processor" under that customer's instructions.

Contact: jd@blackwires.com.

2. Legal bases of processing

We rely on the following legal bases to process personal information:

  • Performance of a contract — to deliver the Service you signed up for, including running analyses, generating drafts, and managing credits.
  • Legitimate interests — to keep the Service secure, to detect fraud or abuse, to improve the Service, and to communicate with you about your account. Where we rely on this basis, we have performed a balancing test and consider that your rights are not overridden by our interests.
  • Consent — for non-essential cookies, marketing emails, and certain optional features. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
  • Compliance with legal obligations — for example, to retain billing records or respond to valid legal requests.

3. Your rights

You have the following rights under the GDPR:

  • Right of access — to obtain confirmation that we process your data and a copy of that data.
  • Right to rectification — to have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected.
  • Right to erasure("right to be forgotten") — to have your data deleted, subject to certain exceptions (such as legal retention obligations).
  • Right to restrict processing — to limit how we use your data in defined circumstances.
  • Right to data portability — to receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format and to transmit it to another controller.
  • Right to object — to object to processing based on legitimate interests, including for direct marketing.
  • Right not to be subject to automated decisions — including profiling, that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
  • Right to withdraw consent — at any time, where processing is based on consent.

4. How to exercise your rights

Email jd@blackwires.com with the rights you wish to exercise. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We will reply within thirty (30) days; if your request is complex, we may extend by up to two months and let you know within the first month.

5. Right to lodge a complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you believe our processing violates the GDPR. You can find your local authority through the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) or the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) in the UK. We appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns directly first.

6. International data transfers

Where personal information is transferred outside of the EEA or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards including the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum. Where required, we conduct transfer impact assessments and implement supplementary measures.

7. Sub-processors

We engage sub-processors to provide infrastructure, email delivery, AI inference, and SERP data. Each sub-processor is bound by a data-processing agreement and provides equivalent or stronger protections than required by the GDPR. A current list is available on request to jd@blackwires.com.

8. Automated decision-making

Generated artifacts (outlines, drafts) are produced by AI but are intended for human review. SEO Wires does not make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you using purely automated means.

9. Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy and as required by law. You can request earlier deletion at any time.
